THE EASTER GATHERING 2010
The New England Medieval Arts Society would like to invite you to our 2010 EASTER GATHERING at the Armidale Pine Forest, NSW.
The encampments will feature contemporary re-enactors realizing Byzantine, Norman, Saxon, Viking and other Dark Age protagonists. This will be a living encampment as close as we all can manage to evoke the lifestyle and atmosphere of those long ago days.
For those of you unfamiliar with the Easter Gathering, let me explain...
The event has been running for 20 years biannually. There will be Musicians, Blacksmiths, Workshops, Trading markets, Bartering is encouraged, discussion Forums, even a Tavern for those with a thirst.
Itinerant food and drink vendors will be available.
There will be the Crash of shields, the Clash of weapons as the shield wall holds. Or will it? Which of our warrior tribes will endure?
Which band of warriors will retrieve the Gelden Hoard from the grasp of the Fyrd of Nemas? Many will be the dangers and fearful the cost. Who will stand? Who will fall?
Archery and Combat Archery and Shield Wall Volleys, an Archery Range for those of us in need of practice, an opportunity to catch up with other Toxophilists.
There will be a Brewing Competition covering the broad spectrum of Brewing, Distilling and Fermenting; more information coming.
There will be family friendly and children friendly activities for those of the not so antagonistic bent. Your ideas and contributions are most welcome.
There is much, much more that can be added, but this will suffice, for now. We look forward to your company at Easter 2010, ARMIDALE.
On behalf of NEMAS we wish you WELCOME.

Does sound wicked, I could be able to make this one, I'll then have an excuse to finish (or advance) my impression.

| Am I right in believing that no one else from CdB is going to Armidale this year? |

I believe that's correct, yes.
Were you thinking about it? |

I was set to go this year , I even booked some annual leave from work and organised a plastic tent but it looks like no-one else from this end is keen to go so ive opted for other local event if others were still going to the SCA thing in Melbourne .
